About us

Hello hello! I'm Jessica, single mama to three wildly perfect kids. Aven is 9, Cruz is 5 and Lola is 4. And our little adopted fur baby Frank is 4...we think. We live in Northern California, in the foothills outside of Sacramento. We love it. The sun shines most days but we're blessed to get a little taste of all four seasons!

Aven is my very peppy, intelligent, and hilarious first born. She's not overly girly, which I can appreciate. She is currently involved in softball and is trying her best to get a grasp on third grade math. I am not helpful at all in the math department, but I am very helpful on the softball field. Aven is a great writer though, she is very creative! Give her an art kit and she's busy for hours!

Cruz is my very social, athletic, crazy boy. He can melt the heart of just about anyone, therefore it's hard to get him in trouble because he's just so darn cute. But he is ALLLLLLL boy. Constantly throwing something in the air or sliding on any smooth surface, including the aisles at Target. Cruz is my sensory sensitive child. He has outgrown most of the problems he used to struggle with, but he still has a couple. They make life just a little more interesting. Cruz loves golf and baseball and he's pretty much amazing at both.

Lola is my very sassy, cuddle bug. I always say she would prefer to just have me hold her in one of those baby carriers all day long. She's a stage five clinger!!! Lola loves babies and would love it if I could give her like five more baby siblings. She's a hand holder too...all day and mostly all night. Lola is my girly girl. How funny that I have one of each! She has a lot of personality and can eat more than the other two combined!

Oh and Frank! Our little rescue pup! Frank was rescued during a midnight raid of an illegal kill shelter down in Mexico. We walked in to just glance at the animals, maybe pet some kitties. I spotted this little ball of white fur out of the corner of my eye. He could barely walk, barely eat and had just been brought in the night before. He hadn't even been officially checked in to the shelter. But I fell in love with him. I asked the lady at the front desk if I could take him home, she said I should run out and grab some supplies and come back in an hour. I went to the pet store, bought everything I felt he needed which included food, toys, cute little outfits... you know, the essentials! I came back and we took him home and named him Frank. Within two weeks, he was jumping up and down and showing us that he was most definitely a Jack Russel Terrier. He sleeps with me and still let's me dress him in cute little outfits.

And then there is me... MOM. Most days I don't even remember that I have an actual name other than mom. I like to stay pretty healthy and active. I was diagnosed with MS in 2017 so that is still a storm I am trying to navigate through. But eating healthy and finding time to walk, run or do yoga is a great way to keep my MS from flaring up. I have been doing the single mom thing for what seems like forever... but its been almost six years. Time flies! My life has been filled with some pretty significant challenges. I've been through cancer, divorce, loss, MS, and I was officially diagnosed with PTSD in December 2018. But I see the hand of my savior through every challenge and I know that without a good storm, we can't experience the beauty of a rainbow. As a little girl, I dreamed of being a mom and a wife. I believe God has a plan for me and my sweet babies and I am hoping that one day, I won't be a single mom anymore, but a happily married one who gets to share in the joy of raising kids with someone that God made just for me.

Our life is pretty much constant chaos. But it's fun. We laugh a lot, we dance and sing, cry a little too but we are blessed. Thank you for checking out our little corner of the world. And we hope you enjoy following the crazy chaos and we hope you laugh a little with us too!

XOXO
Jessica Meagan
